{Relationships} Mixing Business with Pleasure: Morning Tea with Inspiremany

Morning Family!

I really hope you are well this morning. Hey if you are reading this I know your eyes work, so give thanks!

Today's topic: Mixing Business with Pleasure

I have seen the Dynamic Duo coming together to take on the world. Will and Jada/ Beyonce and Jay Z for instance working in the same arena, and still grounded with love.  Tracey and Alonzo Mourning working for the change of the community, still very loving towards each other.  Tony and Woodie Lesesne, in the media realm, holding it down with 3 kids married for over a decade.  Where does the balance come into play?

I also see the couples that are always business and never get a rest or hardly have fun...how does it work? Today I am truly asking to hear opinions of those who are married and work together...and to those who were either married or dating someone they worked with but it just didn't work out.  Please share your pros and cons.  And of course, those who just want to add your two cents. Please do.

I am all ears.

{Mental Wellness} Are you Happy? Morning Tea with Inspire Many

Bright morning family!

It may be raining where you are or it may be sunny... My question is are you happy if you don't have money? ((I'm working on being a rapper...just kidding!))

But seriously, do you feel like there is a dark cloud over your life? Where you just cant seem to find shade or a sunny patch?

What is happiness? Lets look up the definition:
According to Miriam-Webster ((the master of all dictionaries))  a state of well-being and contentment.

Are you well and are you content?

In today's society, I find that many people are not content with their lives.  For those who are single, they are lonely looking for a mate.  For those who are married, they are upset with where they are and want to be further.  When does being exactly where you are and being content actually happen.  I understand the "grind" and the desire to be and do more.  But, as you strive how do you sit and say "I AM HAPPY."

#1 Name 3 simple actions that make you feel happy, ones that you can control.  For me: I LOVE dancing, eating, and reading.
#2 Make a time each day to do one of your "happy actions". Even if it starts out at 5 minutes.
#3 Choose to be happy. Happiness is a choice. As I always say, it begins with mindset.  No matter your weight, relationship status, or money situation.  You can choose RIGHT NOW to be happy.
#4 Start a gratitude journal.  In which you write everyday, 5 things you are grateful for.

I still want you to live in reality, if you are in an abusive relationship, or on drugs or something really severe, still face your issues.  But you can still look on the positive side of each scenario.  Find something to be grateful for each day.  It keeps you grounded.

So what if Im not happy with:

i.e. your weight- if You do not like you weight, but everyday you mope, sit, and are depressed about it.  Does that really help your situation? NO! GET UP! Even if it is in 10 minutes intervals you can slowly begin to be more active.  Build a healthy lifestyle, not just a diet a lifestyle.  Sidenote: Majority of those who GO ON DIETS...COME OFF DIETS.  Also doubling or tripling the weight they lost because they were deprived of the food they loved.

i.e. relationships- if you are not happy in your relationship, ask yourself why are you staying? FEAR? Fear of loneliness? Fear of being able to survive on your own? Fear of rejection?

Is it better to live unhappy or happy it is your choice.  Understand that if you look back on your life, Im sure you have been through worse.

Live Happily Now, Be who you dream, and Do what you've always wanted! What the heck are you waiting for?!?

I know these are supposed to be short, so I'll step down from my soapbox.  But I hope you get it.  You only live one life.  Do what truly makes you happy.

For me and my house we worship the Lord.

Till next time,

Coach Cass

Physical Wellness- Being Active Every day...Yes Everyday

Bonjour Family!

I hope you are feeling well this morning and smiling :)

Today's topic- Is being Active Everyday!

I am on week 3 of the INSANITY workout training.  Whew!  It is absolutely insane!  I dont think Ive ever jumped so much in my life!  The logic is that you "go hard" for the majority of the workout and take small rests vs. going slow for the majority and speeding up in small spurts.  The reason is because it is quicker to get in shape with interval training and increasing speed.  I feel fabulous!

Some may think that I am automatically a morning person since I am soo chipper :)

But no... it is a training of the mind.  As I have said before everything begins with mindset.  I trained myself to focus on why I exercise.  To be active, feel good, prevent what I can ( in terms of heart disease, obesity, and other lifestyle diseases), be an awesome mom one day, and get more out of life!

Waking up early to exercise, allows me to have "me time".  Now I don't have to rush like I used to.  Before i would wake up at 7:30a--pray--take care of hygiene--then out the door with breakfast in hand.

Now I dont have to rush, I can do my devotion ((BIBLE IN ONE YEAR WOOHOOO!!)) . I can speak to you. I can respond to clients.  I can eat.  Slowly gather my thoughts.  It is absolutely beautiful to not have to rush!  I understand that what is life really if you don't take the time to enjoy it.

I also minister in dance with my church so on my "off" day with insanity I am still active.

Question:

What are 2 small steps you can take to start becoming active?

Start today!

God has blessed me with a renewed mind and a refreshed spirit.  I'm not saying that it is easy.  But I am saying that it can be done and it can be done well.

Stay Active!

You reap what You Sow: Morning Tea with InspireMany

Buenas Dias Family!

If you are reading this, it means that you made it through the night.  I am thankful for you this morning. :)

Listening to "Something about the name Jesus"-Kirk Franklin... powerful...

Gal 6:7-8 http://bit.ly/96sawB

7Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature[a]will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.

When was the last time you deposited something good in someone else's life?  Have you done it for selfish reasons or because you truly wanted to?

You reap what you sow.  It is your responsibility to be hospitable, kind, and giving. You may get up every Monday morning saying...aww man i have to wake up...I have to go to this crummy job... I have to deal with these (*&^ people.

Have you thought of those who didnt wake up this morning? Or maybe those who couldn't move. What about those who have been looking for employment for 6mo plus? Give thanks for your situation.

If you are out of work, volunteer in the meantime.  you have skills and talents, instead of using them to sit and mope.  Get out in the community and donate your time to help those less fortunate.  Your time will come.  In the meantime, what will being sorry for yourself help?

This past week, I volunteered at Broward Partnership for the homeless.  People there that did not look "homeless".  The face of the homeless has changed.  No longer the destitute image you think of.  Now its the working poor, who just cant afford rent.  People that look like you and I but the bills are just too high...

You never know if you could be in that situation.  Therefore if you can donate clean clothes, toiletries, time...do it.  What can you lose? Nothing.  What can you gain? Everything.

Question:

What skills do you have?

How can you use them to help the community around you?

Experiences with life are what you make it.  The only thing that matters is the dash on your tombstone.  Make it Count!

Give back!

Where are you going? Where have you been?: Sunday dinner with InspireMany

Good evening Family,

I'm here. Sitting on my favorite piece of furniture...my soho day bed. Imagining that I am exactly where I am, my home, my sanctuary.   I wanted to share a word that I heard today that was simple yet powerful.

Have you spent adequate time reflecting on where God has brought you from?  Psalm 124:1  --If it had not been on our side ....Truly where would you be?

Stop moving. Stop multitasking.  Give it a few minutes.  I know you are always grinding, thinking about what's next.  But when was the last time you really thought where was I before?  What has God brought you through.  Where has he shown you MERCY?

Was your life spared?  I know I have had a time in my life that I could've died, but God spared me.

What have you been spared from?  AIDS, Losing your mind, Abortion....

In the Bible, before the children of Israel enter a new territory, God always reminded them where He brought them from.

Do you remind yourself?

Challenge:

Make a list of 3 occasions where God spared you.

Make a list of 5 things you are grateful for.

Im reminding you, that since you have made it this far, God has even greater things in store for you.

Tears ran down my face as I heard this word because I know what I have been through and what could've, should've, would've happened...if it had not been for the Lord on my side.

Giving thanks,

Coach Cass

Morning Tea with Inspire Many::Group think:What have your friends done for you lately?

Buenas Dias mi Familia! :) I traveled to Mexico this morning during my workout. I love taking a mental vacation EVERYDAY :)  Special shouts to Will and June getting married there next June :) Good reason to go back.

Today the Insanity Workout just seemed longer!  You know those days where you ask why...why must I get up? Why do I do this? Living a healthy lifestyle is not convenient but it is better.  Once I started pushing myself, I'm happier, healthier, and more productive. I give thanks for the ability to move, jump, push up, and breathe.

Todays' topic: What have your friends done for you lately?

A wise woman once said You are the sum total of the 5 people you spend the most time with.  Are your closet friends hanging at the corner store or are they CEOs of successful companies?  You may wonder "why don't I have..." or "why haven't I..."  Take a look at your influences.  Every time you have an idea, is it shot down?  Are you supported in your endeavors?  Are your closet friends or family complacent? lazy? Do they have unhealthy habits?

If your family only cooks with a stick of butter day in and day out and you are working on eating healthy.  Its time to educate them...not condemn...but educate.  Maybe they don't know that heart disease is one of the most preventable leading causes of death. Eating right, exercising, drinking water, and 7-8 hours of sleep can prevent many health issues.

Or if you have friends/ family that love to go out to lunch/ dinner everyday or weekend. yet they complain they are "broke".  Are you being pressure or influenced by this issue?  I am a true believer that anyone who is able-bodied and breathing can make legal money.  Its time to educate yourself and others around you.

Be prepared: Understand that everyone is not going to see your point of view.   Love them through it.  Make your decision and keep striving.  Im not saying the throw away your current, but gain new circles to associate with you do think that you like/ want to do.  It's never to late.

Question:

How are you influenced by the 5 closest people to you?

Do you like those influences? What do you want to keep and what do you want to change?

Start today!

Till we meet again!

Morning Tea with InspireMany: What can Exercise do for me?

Good Morning Family!

Nothing like warm mint tea in the morning :)  As apart of Jamaican culture, I was taught to always start your morning with something warm.

Today's short topic: Exercise

Why do i do it?

Aside from superficial reason of looking good, exercise helps me mentally.

It is a time to get "in the zone", pushing myself to new heights that I never thought I could achieve.  I often think of myself on Ka'anapali Beach in Maui, Hawaii.  A place where I visited and saw whales in the horizon between the palm trees.  I travel the world each morning((FREE!)) in my mind. ;)

Lately, I began the Insanity workout and let me tell you....It INSANE!  muscle confusion! :)  Interval training works the best, it gets your heart rate up, keep you moving, and engaged.  Today's workout had be sweaty and on the floor! hahah. Beautiful.

Exercising gets out the toxants and the negativity.  understanding that life is so short and I want to control what I can.  For the moment all of my limbs work, so I use them!  Simple...

I dream of a future to run with my kids, go camping, biking, being active with my husband and family.  So in order to prepare for the future, I begin today.

Question:

How can you begin to step towards your fitness goals today?

Morning Tea with Inspire Many::Are you lazy?

Good morning Family!

So many things to be thankful for! Today concentrating on the ability to work, put forth effort, and give it your best.

This is a short bible verse on work:

Ecclesiastes 11:6 Sow your seed in the morning,
and at evening let not your hands be idle,
for you do not know which will succeed,
       whether this or that,
or whether both will do equally well.

Give life your best.  Sometimes, we think no one is watching therefore we doa "botch" job or give less than 100%.  But the truth lies within.  You know what you have done.  Your integrity should come first.  Sowing good works into the world will reap great benefits.  Give it time.

Question:

Am I helpful?
Am I pleasant to work with?
Would I want to work with me?
Do i work diligently at a task until its completed?

Think about it...the better you are...the better the world is...

Morning Tea with InspireMany: Are you true to yourself?

Morning Family!

Another beautiful day and I am giving thanks.  Today's tea time revolves around doing what you love in all aspects, we are going to focus on relationships.

Some get involved due to loneliness, biological clock, lust, money, or love.  Which one is really the true reason or should I say...the right reason.

Have you ever been in a relationship and said to yourself this is a good person but its just not working? Or maybe this just isn't the right time?  The saying is: if its truly meant to be let it go and see if it comes back.

But what if that time frame is 10-20 years from now?? Would you wait?

I challenge you to look at your love life and ask yourself::

Am I happy?

And if you aren't today is the day to start thinking about a change.

Be the person you are looking for.  I have seen women say "I need a man that does xyz." My question to them is: do you have those qualities, would you be in a relationship with yourself?

Don't search for love. Live life to the fullest, do the things you enjoy, and it will find you.

My thoughts,

Coach Cass

What are you chasing after?

Hey Family! Another day, another dollar?

I was reading my devotion for the morning when a specific hit me like a ton of bricks.  Ecclesiastes 4:4 4 And I saw that all labor and all achievement spring from man's envy of his neighbor. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.

I believe this scripture speaks truth of many people.  Think about it...if there was no one setting the bar or striving or to compete with...would you really push the way you do?  Does your ideas for achievement really spring from what others have and what they do?  Would you be content with your life otherwise?

I see kids do it all the time.  Timmy/ Dashaun have the "latest" iphone therefore I need it.  Mind you before Timmy/ Deshaun had it ...I really didnt care nor did I have a lack.

How do you set your own standard of success?  How do you live life by your own rules?  I can help.

Begin to define what happiness and success mean to you.

Simple terms.

For instance, Im happy when I can praise God, feel loved, and make a difference in others lives.

What makes you happy?

Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks for tuning into today's "Morning Tea with Inspire Many".

Do I build Unity in my Relationships?

Good evening Family!

I know I know...Im late today...had a 7am breakfast meeting.

On to today's discussion::

Do I build Unity in my relationships?

What words come to mind when you think of Unity?

compromise, understanding, care, love, compassion, teamwork, and the list goes on and on.

I notice that when you meet a person at work you are made to "team up" with, its simple to create a unified front.

But what about in your relationships?

Would your relationships change if you began to think : Does this build unity? , before your acted/reacted.

Would you confess that there are things you have done that do not help your relationships ( friends/ family/ significant others)?

What can you begin to do today to build unity in your life?

Life is a journey, enjoy the process.

Is Wellness Coaching for me?

Morning Family!

Coaching a relatively new concept. Life coach, wellness coach, health coach...these terms are foreign to some but should be experienced by all.

I stumbled upon this career track when I was seeking to get a PHD in Psychology. The main idea that attracted me is that coaching is all about taking you from where you are now to where you want to be.

According to Anne Helmke at the National Wellness Institute, “Coaching provides a positive connection — a supportive relationship — between the coach and the person who wants to make a change. That connection empowers the person being coached to recognize and draw on his or her own innate ability and resource to make lasting changes for better health and well-being.”

Also what is amazing is that you dont have to leave the comfort of your own home. Coaching can be done via email and telephone. No need for babysitters, gas, or dealing with outrageous weather.

Coaching has helped me personally in how I deal with others especially those I love, learn that I can do anything I put my mind to, and provided me with the support needed to take my life to another level.

Purpose: To EMPOWER You To Create SUCCESS!!!

Question:
-Are you happy with your lifestyle?
-Are you happy with your relationships?
-Are you Happy with your job?
-Are you Happy with your finances?

These are just a few questions to begin to ask yourself.

Mental Wellness-Interactive blog

Hi Family!

Just finished another Insanity workout! Im going Crazyyyyyyy!

But I love it! You ever notice that the majority of people spend thousands of dollars to look good on the outside but less than $35 a year on the inside.

About one in four adults — suffer from a diagnosable mental disorder in a given year (NIMH).

Just think about it, do you have someone in your family that has an issue with depression but has never gone to see someone.

I truly believe that mental wellness is just as important as physical wellness, if not more.

Question:

What are 3 ways you can begin to work on your mental wellness today?

Here is a quick link to check your status::http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/depression/MH00103_D

Goal setting

Aloha Family!

Welcome to a beautiful morning! I'm looking to "Pay it forward" today!

So today's topic is Goal setting.

In a study at Harvard: Students were asked, "Have you set clear, written goals for your future and made plans to accomplish them?" Only three percent of the graduates had written goals and plans; 13 percent had goals, but they were not in writing; and a big 84 percent had no specific goals at all.

The members of the class were interviewed again (10 years later) and the findings were amazing. The 13% of the class who had goals were earning, on average, twice as much as the 84 % who had no goals at all. And what about the three percent who had clear, written goals? They were earning, on average, ten times as much as the other 97 percent put together.

Did you know that a goal not written down is considered a dream. Dreaming that one day you will accomplish it. Lets work together to make your dreams a reality.

#1: What is your vision? What is your ideal situation?
#2: Pick one part to work on. i.e. finances
#3: Set a time senstive, measurable, attainable goal
#4: Pick a reward for when you accomplish it

write me info@inspiremany.com to review what you have written.

Make it an Inspiring Day!

Feeling Blessed-Workout Day 4

Wow! ....Ok so I messed up I did today's workout yesterday and vice versa. But as long as I did something right???

Today the Insanity Workout had us hopping...jumping...pushing...and sweating! Man oh Man it feels good to exercise!

Taking out an hour for yourself is so essential to your mental health.

Soapbox::

Did you know that mental health is something that is widely overlooked across the world?
Depression strikes so many and they pay no attention. Think about it...have you had someone pass away close to you and when you think about it, you burst into tears and youve never spoken to anyone. Its important to take care of your mind. Your mind affects your entire life.

A happy mind, is a happier you.

Today is September 11, 2010. 9 years since the world halted for a day. I still remember where I was. Thousands of lives lost. I remember the compassion that everyone felt. All were kind and thoughtful. Have you become desensitized to others? Especially those from other cultures?

Challenge:

1. Do one nice thing for someone else that cannot repay you.
2. take 15 minutes out to do something for yourself at least 2xs this week.

Let me know how it goes!

Enjoy your Saturday!

Day 3 of Insanity Workout!

I keep repeating to myself...one day at a time! Thats all it is.

Today was a refreshing surprise...recovery...when Shaun T said that...all I could think was...YEEESSSS....

the workout consisted of balance, control, and toning....oooo yea....

What I think about is when I get older ((to a mature age -not elderly ;)) I need balance to make sure I dont fall. So many fall and break a hip because of poor balance.

Question: What are YOU doing to control your balance?

Have a Inspiring Day!

Get to Work! Insanity Workout!

Hey team!

I know I have been missing from the blog world for a while! But guess who's back!

And I've decided to share my journey through the Insanity Workout.

There has been alot of hype over P 90x and Insanity taking the nation by storm...so let's see what this thing is all about.

Goal: Fit and Toned

Day 1: Fit test: I feel like I almost died! pushups, jumping jacks, the plank with a new twist. Simple exercises attacking all parts of my body! WTHeck!

Day 2: Woke up with all types of aches and pains but pushed through the majority of cardio....on the last circuit...just had to sit down...

Whats the focus:: to have energy and agility when I want to play with my future kids ;)

(((I know I know..such a girl))

But hey why else...Id love to exercise in the morning with my own little family so why not start on me now..

Questions to answer in comment box:
Think about it, majority of people in this nation were NOT taught to exercise by their parents example. Did you see your parents exercise on a regular basis? Did they exercise with you? What do you want to do different for the future generation?

Also my goal is to inspire others to get up off the couch and put their words into action.

Hold me accountable! :)

Talk to you soon,
Coach Cass
