If you are reading this, it means that you made it through the night. I am thankful for you this morning. :)
Listening to "Something about the name Jesus"-Kirk Franklin... powerful...
Gal 6:7-8 http://bit.ly/96sawB
7Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature[a]will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
When was the last time you deposited something good in someone else's life? Have you done it for selfish reasons or because you truly wanted to?
You reap what you sow. It is your responsibility to be hospitable, kind, and giving. You may get up every Monday morning saying...aww man i have to wake up...I have to go to this crummy job... I have to deal with these (*&^ people.
Have you thought of those who didnt wake up this morning? Or maybe those who couldn't move. What about those who have been looking for employment for 6mo plus? Give thanks for your situation.
If you are out of work, volunteer in the meantime. you have skills and talents, instead of using them to sit and mope. Get out in the community and donate your time to help those less fortunate. Your time will come. In the meantime, what will being sorry for yourself help?
This past week, I volunteered at Broward Partnership for the homeless. People there that did not look "homeless". The face of the homeless has changed. No longer the destitute image you think of. Now its the working poor, who just cant afford rent. People that look like you and I but the bills are just too high...
You never know if you could be in that situation. Therefore if you can donate clean clothes, toiletries, time...do it. What can you lose? Nothing. What can you gain? Everything.
Question:
What skills do you have?
How can you use them to help the community around you?
Experiences with life are what you make it. The only thing that matters is the dash on your tombstone. Make it Count!
Give back!
