Give back: Morning Tea with Inspire Many!






Great morning my beautiful family!

Can I tell you...this is the beginning of a beautiful day!  A beautiful weekend!

Today's topic: Giving Back!

There is something special that happens when you help someone in need.  I have been blessed to work in the avenue of helping others for all of my professional career.  




How can you give back?

Yesterday I volunteered with many others to mulch, clean, paint, etc. a lower income school and feeder daycare center.  I can tell you this it feels good to give back.  Knowing that because of work we did children will have a safer/ brighter environment to learn in ...its a beautiful feeling!



We have about 7 bags of clothes from the Inspire Many Men's Clothes Drive.  There are people in your own city and state that need help.

The perfect way to find out how to help is through your local United Way.  The United Way is an organization that raises money for programs in the local community to help those in need.  Every dollar counts and they have ways to get you involved with many volunteer opportunities.

Take a couple hours a month to volunteer.  Next month, Inspire Many will be holding a drive for wrapped toiletries. Shampoo, soap, deodorant, toothbrushes, etc.  We will be going on Christmas eve to various nursing homes to visit with those who don;t have any family or friends. To show that there is still someone that cares.  Please run a drive at your job and set up/drop off donations call 305-349-DOIt (3648).

Support...Morning Tea with InspireMany

Great morning Family!

Can I say how wonderful it is to feel the support from you.   I thank you for logging in everyday, leaving comments, coming to events, registering for coaching services. WOW! You are absolutely amazing!

Today's topic: Support


I have numerous conversations about support through out my life. Finding that one's definition can be totally different from anothers.  Who in your life, do you believe that you support? Write them down and why.

Here is Miriam-Webster's Definition:
 to promote the interests or cause of (2) : to uphold or defend as valid or right : advocate 
 : assisthelp , Comfort : to pay the costs of : maintain <support a family> : to keep (something) going

After reading this definition, look back at your paper and analyze do you display the above to those you support.  

Through the years, I have learned that when you help others you end up helping yourself.  It may not always be financial but you on a whole gain. It could just be ,that sense of knowing you did something good.  

Remember this: There are 2 emotions that people feel: pleasure and the other is pain.  Which of these do you want people to feel when they think of you?  Think of that one person that always brightens the room when they walk in. Smile :) Would you like to have that effect or would you rather be like the person who calls you...you look at the phone then put it back down because they have nothing good to say.

Support those around you doing good in society. Through helping and supporting...we as a unit will grow to higher heights.  Study the cultures that band together, promote, support, "look out for", essentially they are some of the wealthiest and happiest cultures.  Why? Sense of family, belonging, belief, support, and knowing that someone has your back.  Try it Help out. Display the definition of support.  Promote and keep it going. We are family.

Steps to Living LIfe on Purpose! Morning Tea with Inspire Many

Good morning Family!

I love my life!  Can you say the same?? What I would suggest is maybe you "cut the fat".

What is the extra stuff in your life?  Whats bothering you? Causing you the cry? Worry? Complain? maybe its time to block it out.



Today's topic: Living life on Purpose

I'll go straight to the ladies.

Ladies, how many times have you answered the phone while you were doing something...((its someone you care for on the other end)) They ask: Hey what are you doing...Youre response: Oh nothing.

Come on!!!

It is time to start living life on purpose.

1. After God, begin to put yourself first.

i was given an analogy a very long time ago.  On airplanes when they are going over the rules and regulations...they say make sure when the bag drops from the ceiling to out it over your mouth and nose first.  Why? because if you don't you will die.  What good are you, if you are dead?  Same situation here.  If you are not making yourself a priority, you are actually shortchanging others. If you are not your best, you cannot give your best.


2. Cut away anything toxic.  If you are in a relationship, friendship/lover, etc.  that you find yourself crying or upset majority of the time...what is the point?  Fear of Loneliness is something that many people have.  but understand that there are billions of people on this earth.  Walking away from one person will not kill you!  Take the time to analyze your relationships.  Stop stalking exs on facebook, twitter, etc. Block it, shut it down for a while.  Move on.  Concentrate on #1: YOU!

3. Back to you! Learn to love yourself.  If you don't love yourself, how in the world can you love anyone else? Understand that you find it hard to spend time alone, that is a problem.  Take time out to get to know who you are before someone tries to define you.

Listen, I've been there done that , wrote the "book".  I know it is hard to make time for you, walk away from someone we "love", and love ourselves first.  But as I have learned that if your don't do these steps, you will always fall short to the opinion or schedule of someone else.  I am here to tell you that what you have to offer is important to this world.  Your opinion matters.  There is so much you can do and the only this stopping it from happening is YOU.

Come on!

The Power of Positive Thinking!:Morning Tea with Inspire Many




Fabulous morning Family!

What a weekend!  Spent with some of my favorite people near and far. Quality time seeing how they were.  Friends for over a decade! Took gran to vote. WOW! Giving thanks.  I love you all!

Ok ok today's topic: The Power of Positive thinking



Your mindset is the determining factor of how your day evolves.  If you say to yourself, " Awww man...it's Monday...I gotta go to work..:( dang..." That is not a really good start to a day or a week.

Let me tell you...on Friday...I put out there...that this was going to be a weekend filled with fun and laughter, surrounded by love and shenanigans! And that is EXACTLY what happened.

I played games, witnessed the joining of 2 beautiful people, broke bread with loved ones...  PERFECT!

How many times have you ruined your day before it even started?

What can you do now to change that mindset?

3 Steps to a Positive Mindset:
1. Choose 1 thing to look forward to.
i.e. I am excited to see 1 of my co workers today
I am happy that I am having chicken for lunch today ;)

It can be simple

2. Choose 1 item "to do" that will make you feel accomplished
-Sometimes we have a "laundry" list of things to do...that by the end of the day we are upset because we hardly even touched the list.  Instead of being upset.  Start your day with...If I do this one item I will feel accomplish.  Get that done so even if nothing else happens.  You can be proud. It is done.

3. Start you morning with something positive
For me, reading the Word/ Bible/ devotion keeps me in check. For instance, today's passage was based on:  “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things”
(Philippians 4:8, NIV)

Focusing on what God has done in my life thus far, keeps me in "check".  Understanding that I have been through worse and if He got me through that...He can get me through this.  Whatever adversity you face, it is only for a season.  A season can be minutes, days, months, years,.... look for the lesson and learn from it.

HAVE FUN!!! Morning Tea with InspireMany

Good morning Family!!!

I will tell you ...I am happy for the people in my life.  I recently hosted a game night at my home and people came out and had a fabulous time.

Topic: Have Fun!


Do you ever have a time where you always feel uptight, upset, irritated, tired.....STOP!

Make time for fun!

I'll tell you this...playing a few serious rounds of TABOO. Life gets really good :).

Getting together with friends/loved ones and just "kicking it" is necessary to relaxing the mind.

I give thanks for the good times. :) Healthy competition...not talking baout issues/ problems/ who slept with who/ who made you upset....a whole new conversation of "what sandwiches start with K"?! :D Is so relieving! Lighten up! Learn to laugh...learn to laugh at yourself.

Shananigans mixed in with a dose of foolishness is good medicine for the soul.

When is the last time you took time out to play!?!

Don't Pick up the Phone!: Morning Tea with Inspire Many

Great morning to you family!

Sometimes, it can be frustrating to ALWAYS be on call. Someone ALWAYS trying to get in touch with you...

Topic: Don't Pick up the Phone!

I remember the days when someone would leave a voicemail on your home phone ((who still has those??)).  You would wait until the answering machine picked up, har who it was, then decide if you wanted to pick up.  If you didn't want to speak at that moment...no problem... you would call back when you could.

NOW in today's society, if "I" call/text/email/facebook/tweet/ or smoke signal you...I expect a response in 2.2 seconds! WHAT IS THIS!!!!

My challenge is: Don't Pick up the Phone.

Spend more time being mindful of your actions. It's easy to get distracted at work or from what you are doing because of a phone interruption.  What kills me even more is when people get mad that you didn't respond soon enough on their clock.


Listen if it is not an emergency and I am busy.  I'll call you back.

Here is one tip that has helped: On my voicemail, I state leave a message after the beep or if you need to get in touch with me right away, send a text.

Therefore if there is no message and no important text, and I am in the middle of something, I am not likely to call back. SIMPLE.

Take Control of your time.  Don't let others dictate your schedule.  If they choose to get upset that is their choice.

I choose peace, harmony, and tranquility.  Life is too short to jump at every bell, whistle, and "whip my hair" ringtone ;). hahahaha


Either way, think about what you can do to communicate to loved ones, "Hey I value you but I need another drop of peace in my recipe of life."

Top ways to avoid Holiday Weight Gain!!!:Morning Tea with InspireMany

Oh my goodness!  Good morning Family!!!

Is it just me or is the end of the year fast approaching already!  What is going on????

I walked into a department store last week and spotted Santa!  Are you kidding?

I know the holidays bring much joy and anxiety!

You think of getting together with loved ones and the time you share but then also the 10-20 lbs that you may gain because of the unlimited availability of food!

I'll share 2 of the top 7 ways to maintain your weight during the holidays.

Yes...maintain your weight. I am a realist, I know its hard enough for you not to gain weight during this season so I won't touch weight loss.

With Halloween around the corner and the abundance of candy...

1: Everything in Moderation

Understand that too much of anything is bad.  Therefore everything in moderation is simple.  Instead of "helping" test your kids candy.  Limit yourself each day.  No more than 1 or 2 bit-size candies for the day. Same goes for desserts.  I know aunt Bev makes great rum cake ((yes, I'm Jamaican ;)), but understand that you don't have to each the whole thing yourself/ in one day.  Share the wealth, bring it to work, church, or other loved ones.

2. Eat before you leave the house
When it comes to the big dinners and holiday parties.  People tend not to eat.  They await the moment of the shindig to chow down!  Better mindset: Eat something before.  Especially since you don't know what time food will be served.  Make sure to each breakfast and lunch and even a light snack before going out to a dinner function.  This will help to curb your appetite.

Willow - Whip My Hair

WOW Family!

Can we say talented?  It is amazing when you just have the "right connection".  Here is a little girl, 9 years old, Willow Smith, who is a child of Will and Jada Smith 2 icons in the world.  She has transitioned into the music industry because of where she is from and her talent.

I say the same to you today:

You are God's child.

You have the right connection.

Whatever your mind can concieve it can achieve.

You just have to believe.

Never give up on your dreams.


It's so funny how different things can motivate you.  For instance this morning, I changed up my routine.  I added the "Whip my Hair" song instead of listening to a screaming man say Dig Deeper! :)////Can I tell you that I went 10x harder!  What is your motivation? What gets you pumped?

If a 9 year old can do it, you have no excuse!  Get out there.  What's the worst thing that can happen?  You gave it your all and you know that you tried.  What's the best thing that can happen??? :) Exactly

EXPOSED!!! Lies, Deceit, Trickery, Low Self-Esteem...:Morning Tea with InspireMany

Great Morning Family!


Wow!  Started off with a fabulous workout.  Worked up a real sweat! OOooooo I feel good.  Now for my Morning mint tea ;)


Ok today's Topic: EXPOSED!


Yesterday I had such a .... impactful, breathtaking, amazing, day filled with vision and what some would call "coincidences" but I call it God.




The morning started off with me ministering in dance at my church.  ((sidenote: its such a blessing to be able to move my limbs!))... So when it came time for the sermon...I saw that we had a guest preacher.  I wasnt the happiest just because I really just wanted to hear a word from our pastor.  But I told myself that I would give him a chance.


...I am soooo happy that I did.




I'll give you the cliffnotes version.  In mark 3, there was a man with a withered hand, a paralyzed hand,  a messed up hand. Paralyzed means that you have it...but its just not working.


And all who were around were waiting to see what Jesus would do with this man.


In those days, if you had something wrong with your body, you would cover it up with your clothes. ..


So just imagine, a man with his 'messed up" hand, using his jacket to cover it.




Jesus said to the man and stretch out your hand...




Just imagine what this man was thinking!  Can you imagine if someone "called out" your flaws in front of everyone family/friends, etc. ..how would you feel? What would you do?




The man listened to Jesus... he stood up... stretched out his hand and it was restored...


The blessing...the blessing was in the man being obedient to God no matter how uncomfortable it made him feel.  And look because he listened the man with the "messed up" hand was healed.




Do you have something thats paralyzed/ just not working?
All of us have something that can be "exposed" or that we are not proud of.  But are you just hiding it under your jacket... or are  you facing it head on?  You may have a "messed up" hand but understand that God is with you and He has your back but you have to listen to Him ... no matter how uncomfortable it may feel.  You have to go through one level of exposure to experience another level of breakthrough.  The pastor made an analogy of a rubber band.  In order for a rubber band to be moved...it has to be stretched.  Same thing with your life... you have to stretch in order to move!  Embrace it!


So much wisdom was shared with me yesterday that I want to share with you...but this would not longer be Morning tea...but Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner!


There is a season of exposure and stretching but you will come out better than you already are.  


Jesus healed a man who didn't ask for a blessing.  He was proving a point to the spectators! 


When the world uses you- you get hurt....but when God uses you...you get healed...




I truly hope this message blesses you as it blessed me.


Challenge:


Look within yourself, what are you not proud of...what are you hiding?  Take a good look in the mirror and begin to work out it. Pray on it.  Give it to God.


And I will do the same.

What a day!: Midnight snack with Inspire Many

Hey guys...I definately need to go to sleep but....I just had to share my day.


I awoke this morning- have a fabulous breakfast! :) best in a very long time.

Played connect 4...who does that anymore? hahah

Took the car for a wash and vacuum.

Then did exercise routine for about an hour.

From there I had an hour coaching session.  The client said she felt really good about it. And was excited for our next session! YESSSS! I empowe people to make lasting positive change in their lives.

From there I went to do a tribute to a friend that was murdered last night.

Then went, as I had promised. to the gun range (( I never break a promise)).  My first time ever!  CRZY! i'll let you know I hit the bullseye. Yes I know Im cool haha

After that went home to change and drove down to the Miami Science Museum to support a friend's movie debut. Lorenzo Ice Tea Thomas - Perfect Peace

Also interviewed people as they came out of the theater...

now Im home...what a day!!!

ok just thought I'd change-esp since I cant seem to find my journal.  Thanks for listening.

Man in the Mirror: Morning Tea with InspireMany

Hello beautiful family!

I'm grateful for a new day and all the new family I have met.  This past weekend was a sad but joyous time in my life.  We celebrated the life of my cousin Ilene who passed away.  I met family from all over, from Jamaica to Cali to Canada and back!  Amazing!  So good to feel connected.



Topic: Taking a look at yourself

Critiscm comes if you like it or not. Many times you may just have haters or maybe its love.  Either way it is always good to take a look in the mirror and look at yourself.

Now if a person, is ALWAYS criticizing and hardly has good things to say. Take their opinion with a grain of salt and ask if they have looked in the mirror lately.

We all have doubts, downfalls, insecurities, and fears.  The message is not to play into them but to overcome or outgrow them. 

My pastor preached a sermon that has stuck with me... instead of always looking out the window into what someone else is doing.  Look in the mirror.

There was a story of a woman who always looked out the window into the neighbors yard.  Her neighbor would hang his clothes out to dry once a week.  This woman would always think to herself why is her neighbor hanging ditry clothes out to dry.  One day, when the woman came to the window, she noticed he neighbor hangin bright white clothes.  She called her husband over and said look hunny I wonder what made them hang clean clothes.  Her husband replied, they didnt change anything... I finally cleaned the window....


Instead of scrutinizing others, take a look at yourself.  Be humble in what you find.  Things you don't like change/ or begin to work on.  Change is hard but it can be done and it can be done well. 

Love yourself for who you are and what you work on becoming.  Only you have to deal with the TRUE you at the end of the day.

Understand there will always be haters/ people jealous of what you do or who you are.  Some will comment out of love. Everyone have their own agenda.  If you are happy with where you are going and what you are doing...keep striving.

Only God can judge you.

Are you the Total Package? : Lunch with InspireMany


Hey Family!!

Had a really early start this morning therefore I couldn't check in with you.

The topic of dating and searching always comes up in conversation with my girlfriends.


This note especially goes to the women who have the long checklist of what they want and need in a mate.

Giiiiiirl, my man needs to treat me like ________, he needs to look like _________, he needs to make_________, he needs to drive________.  and if its anything less thats not my husband or can't come close to being my man.


my question is are YOU the TOTAL package?

question 2: would you date you?

Think about it...


If you spotted you on the street would you be attracted? How do you carry yourself?

When you leave the house, is it crushed/ dirty/ holey clothes with socks and slippers?
Or do you take pride?

In your conversation, do you just talk all about yourself and what you want?

Do you show interest in the other person?


Are you making strides to become a better person or are you just waiting for someone to come and take care of you?

I challenge you to stop focusing on what you want in a mate and start focusing on how to be the best you!

The right one will come along...but honestly...are you truly ready now?

Are you getting enough Sleep?: Morning Tea with Inspire Many

Morning family!

Keeping this quick this morning:



Topic: Sleep

Did you know that when you get enough sleep, you can live longer.  There was a study published in the journal of Sleep Medicine that if you get 6.5 to 7.5 hours of sleep a night, you can live longer. WOW!  Do you get that much sleep?

Majority of adults need 8-8.5 hours of sleep a night!

Here are 5 Serious health risks of not getting enough sleep:

1. Obesity
2. Heart disease
3. Diabetes
4. Headaches
5. Depression


Even lack of attention and death!!!

So essentially, not getting enough sleep puts uneccessary stress on your body.  Causing you to eat more, disrupt hormones, cause pain, and kill you!

All of this is partially preventable through getting enough sleep.

Challenge for you today::

Get 8 hours of sleep.

Importance of family: Morning Tea with InspireMany



Morning Family!

I hope you slept well.  I am feeling absolutely wonderful!  Worked out this morning, ate breakfast, had a beautiful conversation.  God is good.

Today's short topic: Family

The only people that will always love you no matter what.  If you mess up, gain weight, lose weight, family will always love you.

Ever notice that when you are down... they are there with open arms.  But what bout when you are happy and joyous?  Do you call them up? Are you there for them when they are down?

Family especially the younger ones, have you invested time?

The time is now. Commit to spending a few hours contacting, spending time with, and reaching out to family.  While they are still here.




Personal story: (only a Month ago) On a Sunday:: Went with a cousin I haven't seen in over 2 years, who lives 15 minutes away from me.  The day after the wedding (Monday), she went for a cat scan.   The very next day (Tuesday), my cousin had to have emergency surgery.  After that she was in a coma...and tried to hold on....Unfortunately a few weeks later...my cousin passed away.

Moral of the story... You just never know when your time or their time will be up.  Cherish those you love now because tomorrow is never promised.

Do you take care of your body? Morning Tea with InspireMany

Hello beautiful family!

I can't stay long have a 7:30a mastermind meeting:)

I can a fabulous weekend.  Had a beach party with my mom :) ((the little things that count))


Topic:  Do you take care of your body?



I know you have heard this before, but your body is your temple.  Garbage in garbage out.  I know any individuals that complain about their body but instead of doing something about it they are eating fried foods, ice cream, candy, soda, etc.  How does that really help?

Essentially if you cannot pronounce the ingredients on the label, maybe you should put it down and walk away.

I am here to encourage you to do one step/thing to improve your health.  Here are your options:

Drink half of your body weight in oz. every day.  So if you weigh 150 lbs, drink 75 oz of water a day. (in between step drink 20 more ounces that you drink now)

Increase your vegetable and fruits by one serving

Increase your heart rate for 10 more minutes a day ( running in place/ jump rope/ taking stairs)- remember to stretch.

Have a friend keep you accountable.

Sexual Health: Are you Hot??? :Morning Tea with Inspire Many

Hey Family!  It is a beautiful day in Florida!! :)  What's up? What's happening?  You all are waaay too quiet.  Speak to me!


Today's topic: Sex

Something that Everyone loves to talk about.  I met this sexy guy/ girl and we had the craziest night. Or maybe mmmaaaannnn he left me bowlegged or that girl had skills!  Ooooo Boy do people love good sex....


But is that all there really is to it?

Are you HOT?

That question really means are you carrying something...

1 in 4 people with HIV have no idea!  DID you know that according to Kaiser 1 in 2 sexually active Americans have a Sexually Transmitted Disease? Scary Isnt it...

So is your criteria of sexy and skilled really enough to say "Let's Do it"?

How Hot do you wanna get?

Scale starts with Trichomoniasis (yeast infection)...step it up to Chlamydia (curable)...then HIV( Lifelong virus)...death...


Id much rather be cold.

Question:

If you are sexually active, when was the last time you have been tested?

Do you ask for proof of status from your partner BEFORE you have sex?

Do you get tested annually?


How much do you really RESPECT your temple?

Planting a seed and I surely hope it grows. Ask questions, get tested, have fun!

{Mental Wellness}: COMMITMENT--What are you loyal to?-Morning Tea with Inspire Many

Ahhhhh... Mint tea...((exhale)) :)

Ok family... GREAT MORNING!

Today's topic: Commitment


Commitment is sticking to something long after the feeling/ want to do it has left you.


This morning was rough!  I have committed to a 60-day workout program, INSANITY.  When I say this workout plan is nuts, its nuts....now it really isn't different from most interval training plans that you see in a SHAPE or FITNESS magazine.  But, its one of the new trends.  Personally, I consider myself an "untrendy" person.  Usually doing something different from the rest.  This time I wanted to experience the hype.


So every morning I get up bright and early, to work out.  Up, down, side to side, jump back and forward...man my body is working!  ((sidenote: in the last dance ministry practice I had, I swear that all of my bone were cracking..*crick crack*))

So this morning, I had my alarm set and I had all intentions of getting up...but no. SNOOZE.

35 minutes later, I saw that I overslept and contemplated getting out of bed. What's so bad about missing one day? It's just one day...right?

WRONG

I got up.  Knowing that I  just wanted to lay in bed and sleep for another hour +.

I share this because some of us have activities, people, or things that we have committed to and we are not CONSISTENT.  It is important to stay the course.  Especially when the course is making you a better person.  Exercise, eating right, daily devotion...

Just to touch on daily devotion...I have been reading the "bible in a year"  Right now I am in Isaiah and Ephesians.  I have never felt so accomplished in my life!  A feat that 95% of people have never done or come close to!  Personally I choose to gain a deeper understanding of the Word.  And I find it hard to talk about a book that I have never read cover to cover.  I have become consistent in reading the Word every morning.  It keeps me focused on the right things, reminds me of what God has done for my life, and allows me to be grateful.  Once again COMMITMENT.
