Don't Pick up the Phone!: Morning Tea with Inspire Many

Great morning to you family!

Sometimes, it can be frustrating to ALWAYS be on call. Someone ALWAYS trying to get in touch with you...

Topic: Don't Pick up the Phone!

I remember the days when someone would leave a voicemail on your home phone ((who still has those??)).  You would wait until the answering machine picked up, har who it was, then decide if you wanted to pick up.  If you didn't want to speak at that moment...no problem... you would call back when you could.

NOW in today's society, if "I" call/text/email/facebook/tweet/ or smoke signal you...I expect a response in 2.2 seconds! WHAT IS THIS!!!!

My challenge is: Don't Pick up the Phone.

Spend more time being mindful of your actions. It's easy to get distracted at work or from what you are doing because of a phone interruption.  What kills me even more is when people get mad that you didn't respond soon enough on their clock.

Listen if it is not an emergency and I am busy.  I'll call you back.

Here is one tip that has helped: On my voicemail, I state leave a message after the beep or if you need to get in touch with me right away, send a text.

Therefore if there is no message and no important text, and I am in the middle of something, I am not likely to call back. SIMPLE.

Take Control of your time.  Don't let others dictate your schedule.  If they choose to get upset that is their choice.

I choose peace, harmony, and tranquility.  Life is too short to jump at every bell, whistle, and "whip my hair" ringtone ;). hahahaha

Either way, think about what you can do to communicate to loved ones, "Hey I value you but I need another drop of peace in my recipe of life."

I would love to hear your ideas below.

Can't wait!
