{Mental Wellness}: COMMITMENT--What are you loyal to?-Morning Tea with Inspire Many

Ahhhhh... Mint tea...((exhale)) :)

Ok family... GREAT MORNING!

Today's topic: Commitment

Commitment is sticking to something long after the feeling/ want to do it has left you.

This morning was rough!  I have committed to a 60-day workout program, INSANITY.  When I say this workout plan is nuts, its nuts....now it really isn't different from most interval training plans that you see in a SHAPE or FITNESS magazine.  But, its one of the new trends.  Personally, I consider myself an "untrendy" person.  Usually doing something different from the rest.  This time I wanted to experience the hype.

So every morning I get up bright and early, to work out.  Up, down, side to side, jump back and forward...man my body is working!  ((sidenote: in the last dance ministry practice I had, I swear that all of my bone were cracking..*crick crack*))

So this morning, I had my alarm set and I had all intentions of getting up...but no. SNOOZE.

35 minutes later, I saw that I overslept and contemplated getting out of bed. What's so bad about missing one day? It's just one day...right?

WRONG

I got up.  Knowing that I  just wanted to lay in bed and sleep for another hour +.

I share this because some of us have activities, people, or things that we have committed to and we are not CONSISTENT.  It is important to stay the course.  Especially when the course is making you a better person.  Exercise, eating right, daily devotion...

Just to touch on daily devotion...I have been reading the "bible in a year"  Right now I am in Isaiah and Ephesians.  I have never felt so accomplished in my life!  A feat that 95% of people have never done or come close to!  Personally I choose to gain a deeper understanding of the Word.  And I find it hard to talk about a book that I have never read cover to cover.  I have become consistent in reading the Word every morning.  It keeps me focused on the right things, reminds me of what God has done for my life, and allows me to be grateful.  Once again COMMITMENT.

Question:

What are you committed to?

Are you committed to things that uplift, encourage, and educate you/others?

Are you committed to the right things?

If it is right for you, stay committed and be consistent!

Till next time,

Word of the Day:

Isaiah 12

2 Surely God is my salvation;
       I will trust and not be afraid.
       The LORD, the LORD, is my strength and my song;
       he has become my salvation."

  1. I agree that we need to strive for the strength to commit, and to continuously seek spiritual knowledge.
